Basketball Game Preview: Marietta Blue Devils vs. Wheeler Wildcats

Marietta is 9-1 against Wheeler since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Blue Devils will square off against the Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. Marietta has given up an average of 50.3 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Marietta is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Cherokee just ended the team's 13-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 63-54 to the Warriors.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kyann Senior, who shot 56% from the field en route to 11 points and eight boards. She has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Leah DeWitt, who posted 15 points.

Meanwhile, Wheeler lost to North Paulding on the road by a 59-44 margin on Tuesday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Wolfpack recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Wheeler now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Marietta, their loss dropped their record down to 20-5.

Marietta beat Wheeler 54-41 in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
