Basketball Game Preview: Harlingen South Hawks vs. Pace Vikings

The Harlingen South Hawks will head out to challenge the Pace Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Harlingen South is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Last Tuesday, Harlingen South didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Rivera, but they still walked away with a 52-48 win.

Meanwhile, Pace suffered their biggest defeat since November 19, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Weslaco East, falling 49-23. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1039th, while the Wildcats are ranked 310th).

Harlingen South has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for Pace, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Harlingen South couldn't quite finish off Pace when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 54-52. Can Harlingen South avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
