Soccer Game Preview: Eastwood vs. Franklin

The Eastwood Troopers will face off against the Franklin Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastwood's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was Socorro who was credited with the win on Friday. Socorro got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Eastwood's four. The Troopers have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Franklin's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Montwood. The win was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while the Rams are ranked 32nd).

The victory made it two in a row for Franklin and bumps their season record up to 6-2. As for Eastwood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
