Recap: Atkinson County Rebels vs. Worth County Rams
The Atkinson County Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. The game between them and Worth County wasn't particularly close, with Atkinson County falling 71-57. Atkinson County has struggled against the Rams recently, as their contest on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Worth County to victory, but perhaps none more so than NIKENDRICK BROWN, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points BROWN has scored all season. ASHTON WILLIAMS was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with two steals.
Atkinson County has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Worth County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atkinson County will play host again and welcome the Bulldogs, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lanier County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Rebels in Georgia (the Bulldogs are ranked 222nd, while the Rebels are ranked 461st). As for Worth County, they and the Indians will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Dodge County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.
