Basketball Recap: Christian Academy of Louisiana Comes Up Short

Christian Academy of Louisiana had lost five straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it six. They took a blow against the Bishop Noland Episcopal Day Eagles, falling 66-30. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Eagles are ranked 68th).

Christian Academy of Louisiana's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Noah Bragg, who posted eight points, and Jaden Dorsey, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards. Dorsey has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times he's played.

As for Bishop Noland Episcopal Day, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 30 points or more this season.

Bishop Noland Episcopal Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kollin Jackson led the charge by going 8-for-10 to rack up 18 points along with six assists and six boards. Those 18 points gave Jackson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Machen Cox, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Christian Academy of Louisiana has already played their next contest, a 75-27 loss against Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool on the 9th.
