The Mattanawcook Lynx will head out on the road to face off against the Foxcroft Academy Ponies at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Mattanawcook is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Friday, Mattanawcook made easy work of George Stevens Academy and carried off a 13-1 win. The Lynx might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

Isaac Ritchie made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Dylan Landry was excellent, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Chase Stevens also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Mattanawcook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Foxcroft Academy faced Washington Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Ponies walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Raiders.
Like Mattanawcook, Foxcroft Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Hayden Strout. On the mound, Strout struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Lucas Sands struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). At the plate, Strout went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Sands went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Thomas Day, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Calvin Landry, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Foxcroft Academy's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Mattanawcook, their record now sits at 6-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mattanawcook has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Foxcroft Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mattanawcook suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Foxcroft Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Lynx avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
