Belmont won the last time they faced Thurgood Marshall and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Bison were the clear victors by a 23-1 margin over the Cougars. The Bison might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 15 runs or more this season.

William Wagner made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Wagner was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. He has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

In other batting news, Carter Blankenship was a standout: he fired off four runs, three doubles, and three RBI while going 4-for-5. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Bryce Smith was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and one double.

Belmont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .581. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matches.

Belmont's record is now 9-1. As for Thurgood Marshall, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Belmont will be taking part in a tournament against Kenton Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Thurgood Marshall, they will host Trotwood-Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
