Basketball Recap: South Haven Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

South Haven waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged the Oxford Wildcats out 45-43. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 68-59 two weeks ago.

Oxford's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zane Whitson, who went 6-for-15 en route to 15 points and eight assists. The dominant performance gave Whitson a new career-high in points. Cordell Jordan was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

South Haven's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Oxford, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 11-3.

South Haven has already played their next matchup (against Cedar Vale/Dexter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Oxford, they have already played their next contest, a 58-55 win against Sedan on the 7th.
