Volleyball Recap: St. Mary's Academy Takes a Loss

St. Mary's Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Colorado Academy Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Colorado Academy was led to victory by Violet Judson-Arthur and Tess DeNezza. Judson-Arthur had 22 assists and six digs, while DeNezza had eight digs and two aces. Those eight digs gave DeNezza a new career-high.

St. Mary's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Colorado Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. St. Mary's Academy will take on rival Eagle Ridge Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Colorado Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Stargate School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
