Basketball Recap: Chaparral Comes Up Short

Chaparral suffered their biggest defeat since December 28, 2024 on Monday. They came up short against the Legacy Longhorns, falling 89-66. The loss continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Longhorns: they've now lost seven in a row.

Chaparral now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Legacy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chaparral will square off against Cimarron-Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cimarron-Memorial knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Chaparral likes a good challenge. As for Legacy, they will challenge Shadow Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Legacy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games.
