Softball Recap: Paulding County Has No Trouble Against Pepperell

Paulding County hadn't done well against Pepperell recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 18-1 victory. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 15-0 win the Dragons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2022.

Kylee Stancil made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in August of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Grace Dempsey and Mae Stewart did most of the damage at the plate: Dempsey went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Stewart went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Dempsey has posted since back in September of 2024. Abbey Parish was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Paulding County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .607. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Paulding County now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pepperell, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Paulding County will take on Milton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pepperell, they will be playing at home against Fannin County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
