Softball Recap: Carbon Takes a Loss

Carbon had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 6-14 to make it four. They lost 10-0 to the Union Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Dinos have suffered against the Cougars since April 2, 2019.

As for Union, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

For Union's part, the team relied heavily on Ailey Burgess, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Burgess has hit this season. Charlee Kesler was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Carbon will be playing in front of their home fans against Providence Hall at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Dinos surely won't give up without a fight. As for Union, they will head out to square off against Ogden at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
