Basketball Preview: Chadwick Cardinals vs. School of the Ozarks Patriots
The Chadwick Cardinals will be playing at home against the School of the Ozarks Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chadwick will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive.
Last Friday, Chadwick ended up a good deal behind the Eagles and lost 57-42. While losing is never fun, Chadwick can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Eagles are ranked 17th).
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, School of the Ozarks beat the Panthers 48-42 on Saturday.
Josiah Martin and Timba Saffle were among the main playmakers for School of the Ozarks as the former scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals and the latter scored 15 points along with three steals. Martin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Fisher Thompson, who scored six points.
Chadwick's defeat ended a 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-3. As for School of the Ozarks, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Chadwick against the Patriots in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 59-21 victory. With Chadwick ahead 34-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
