Softball Recap: Lincoln-Way West's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lincoln-Way West won against Stagg on Thursday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Everything went the Warriors' way against the Plainfield Central Wildcats as they made off with a 12-2 win. Considering the Warriors have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Lincoln-Way West, bringing their record up to 13-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Plainfield Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8-1.

Looking ahead, Lincoln-Way West will take on Lincoln-Way East at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Griffins will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Plainfield Central, they will challenge Joliet Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Steelmen have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.23 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
