Soccer Game Preview: Jack Britt vs. Cape Fear

The Jack Britt Buccaneers will head out to face off against the Cape Fear Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jack Britt is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Jack Britt proved they can win big on Monday (they won by nine) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Gray's Creek 3-2.

Jack Britt hit the Bears with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Isabella Hernandez, Sophia Hernandez, and Giada Nelson.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Cape Fear and Purnell Swett, and Cape Fear kept the tradition alive. The Colts' defense stepped up to hand the Rams a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Cape Fear, who have now won ten games by three goals or more so far this season.

Cape Fear has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up six goals over those 15 contests. As for Jack Britt, they pushed their record up to 15-4-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Jack Britt beat Cape Fear by a goal in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
