Baseball Recap: Dilley Takes a Loss

Dilley came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Cotulla Cowboys, falling 25-10. The Wolves were not able to make up for their loss to the Cowboys from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Jesse Hernadez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Dilley: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

Dilley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Cotulla, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8-1.

Coming up, Dilley will look to defend their home field on Friday against Crystal City at 7:00 p.m. As for Cotulla, they will square off against Hondo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Owls will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Cowboys surely won't give up without a fight.
