Hartselle had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Austin Black Bears 39-7. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Tigers had established a 25-point advantage.

Hartselle got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carter Lee out in front who threw for 163 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 passes. Jaheim Pruitt was in the mix as well, providing the Tigers with two TDs.

Hartselle didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Malachi Pawlitschek and Jayden Thornton.

Hartselle and Austin should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Tigers will take on Jackson-Olin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (28 vs. 178). Meanwhile, Austin (ranked 32nd) will meet Decatur (ranked 124th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
