Basketball Recap: Fort Lupton Falls Despite Big Games from Mylz Palmer and Joziyah Bernal + How To Watch

Fort Lupton lost against Eaton back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bluedevils took a 78-61 bruising from the Reds. While the Bluedevils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Reds 18-11 in the first quarter.

Fort Lupton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Joziyah Bernal, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 23 points and five rebounds, and Mylz Palmer, who went 8-for-18 to rack up 21 points. The matchup was Palmer's fifth in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Donte Lenox, who posted two points and five steals.

Leading Eaton to victory were Crew Haythorn and Austin Crider. Haythorn went 11-for-20 en route to 28 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Crider dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Haythorn has scored at least a third of the Reds' points. Jacob Ball also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Fort Lupton and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Eaton, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Fort Lupton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-51 victory against Platte Valley on the 18th. As for Eaton, they have also already played their next contest, a 52-44 defeat against Resurrection Christian on the 19th.
