Baseball Recap: Tigard Finds Home Field Redemption Against Putnam

There's no place like home for Tigard, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They skirted past the Putnam Kingsmen 5-4. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Kingsmen recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Alexander Pearson made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Dominic Taylor was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Grant Fensler was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles.

Tigard now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Putnam, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Tigard will square off against West Salem at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.17 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Putnam, they will take on Franklin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
