On Friday, Reagan had just enough and edged Mourning out 3-2.
Reagan took Mourning into a fifth set where they got it done with a nine-point win. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-21, 18-25, 19-25, 15-6.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Varela's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They came up short against Goleman, falling 3-0.
While Varela ultimatly came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-23, 25-18.
Reagan pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Varela, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
