Football Recap: Cypress Creek Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Cypress Creek lost against Cy-Fair back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars lost 52-32 to the Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 697th, while the Bobcats are ranked 203rd).

Cy-Fair's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arnell Fontenot, who rushed for 101 yards and a pair of scores. Fontenot is becoming a predictor of the Bobcats' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Sean Riegler was another key signal caller, throwing for 186 yards and one TD.

This is the second loss in a row for Cypress Creek and nudges their season record down to 1-7. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.5 points over those games. As for Cy-Fair, their record is now 6-2.
