Baseball Recap: Archbishop Hannan's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Live Oak, Archbishop Hannan was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fontainebleau Bulldogs a 2-0 shutout. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Patrick Kennedy's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, Archbishop Hannan's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Owen Stempel, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave Stempel a new career-high.

Archbishop Hannan's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Fontainebleau, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Archbishop Hannan will challenge Hammond at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Archbishop Hannan's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four contests, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around. As for Fontainebleau, they will take on Northlake Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
