Aztec is 9-1 against Gallup since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Tigers will take on the Bengals at 6:00 p.m.

On Saturday, Aztec didn't have quite enough to beat Kirtland Central and fell 4-3. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kale Watson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gallup). They put the hurt on Shiprock with a sharp 18-3 win on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bengals as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Dwight Calvin was a standout: he scored three runs while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Chase Blackgoat, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his seven plate appearances.

Gallup always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .540. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.

Gallup's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Aztec, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Aztec took their victory against Gallup when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 34-2 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Bengals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
