Volleyball Recap: Fountain Valley Takes a Loss

Fountain Valley was the 2-0 winner over Florence when they last played one another back in September of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Danes took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies on Monday.

Fountain Valley was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Florence work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 23-25, 26-24, 25-14.

Keira Llewelyn paced Fountain Valley's offense, picking up seven kills. Llewelyn got some help from Olivia Nunez-Alley and her nine assists. Ainsley Joseph controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Fountain Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Florence, they moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their four-match losing streak.

Fountain Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Monument Academy on the 25th. As for Florence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against La Junta on the 23rd.
