Volleyball Recap: Cherokee Trail Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eaglecrest, Cherokee Trail was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Regis Groff Fusion, sneaking past 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Fusion: they've now won three in a row.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Cherokee Trail got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-21, 22-25, 25-13, 24-26, 15-13.

Cherokee Trail's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Regis Groff, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 9-2 record.

Coming up, Cherokee Trail will challenge Mullen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Regis Groff, they will square off against George Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give the Fusion their first taste of in-conference action this season.
