Recap: Sumter Christian Bears vs. Carolina Christian Academy
The Sumter Christian Bears put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Carolina Christian Academy 79-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Sumter Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aj Danzy, who scored 36 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Danzy has scored at least 25% of Sumter Christian's points. Quayshawn While was another key contributor, scoring 25 points.
Sumter Christian has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 5-0 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Carolina Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sumter Christian will take on North Walterboro Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carolina Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hawthorne Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
