            Softball Recap: South Allegheny Gladiators vs. Oakland Catholic        
        
		
        
        
            South Allegheny proved they can win big  on Tuesday (they won by 16) and  on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Oakland Catholic, sneaking past  14-12.
 Ava Brown made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  2.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits (and not a single walk). Brown was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-4. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in March of 2024.

 In other batting news, South Allegheny got a  massive  performance out of  Taylor Bowman, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those  three  hits gave  Bowman a new career-high.  Emma Jackson was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing  Two bases. while going 4-for-5.
 South Allegheny  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oakland Catholic struck out 15 times.
South Allegheny's record now sits at 2-0. As for Oakland Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Looking ahead, South Allegheny is headed away from home for the first time to  face off against  Seton LaSalle  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Oakland Catholic, they will welcome Jeannette  at 4:00  p.m.  on March 27th.
