Baseball Recap: Odyssey Institute Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Yuma Catholic, Odyssey Institute was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Chino Valley Cougars. The Minotaur have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

The team relied heavily on Jonathan Gonzales, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jay Daughtery, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

The victory got Odyssey Institute back to even at 4-4-1. As for Chino Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6-1 record this season.
