Football Recap: Tattnall Square Academy Comes Up Short

Tattnall Square Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They came up short against the George Walton Academy Bulldogs, falling 30-7. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

As for George Walton Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.3 points on average this season.

George Walton Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zack Wolf, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 58 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing touchdowns Wolf has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aj Dillard, who rushed for 68 yards and one score on only seven carries.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tattnall Square Academy will venture away from home to challenge Calvary Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for George Walton Academy, they will head out to square off against The King's Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
