Basketball Recap: Crossroads Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Sean Smith and Kobe Edgerton

Crossroads Christian suffered their biggest defeat since February 20th on Saturday. They lost 69-44 to the Woodberry Forest Tigers. The Colts have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Crossroads Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Kobe Edgerton and Sean Smith. Edgerton went 5 of 10 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds, while Smith almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. The match was Edgerton's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Smith, who posted seven points.

Crossroads Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Woodberry Forest, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Crossroads Christian will take on South Granville in a tournament on December 28th. As for Woodberry Forest, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fork Union Military Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Woodberry Forest is facing Fork Union Military Academy at the right time seeing as Fork Union Military Academy is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
