Basketball Recap: Hauser Comes Up Short

Hauser played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Southwestern Rebels and fell 60-33. The contest marked the Jets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Hauser's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was June Berkenstock, who posted seven points and six rebounds. Haven Hartwell was another key player, putting up eight points.

Southwestern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Olivia Simpson led the charge by posting five points along with ten rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Harlee Hill, who had ten points and seven rebounds.

Hauser's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for Southwestern, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Hauser didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 45-23 loss against North Decatur on the 28th. As for Southwestern, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-30 defeat against Madison on the 28th.
