Softball Recap: West Rowan Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with East Rowan

West Rowan faced East Rowan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Falcons fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 6-5. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Reese Poole was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Ella Doby was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

West Rowan's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for East Rowan, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-2.

Coincidentally, West Rowan and East Rowan will both be playing Robinson the next time they take the field. The Falcons will host the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Mustangs will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
