Basketball Game Preview: Gainesville Bulldogs vs. Willow Springs Bears

Gainesville hasn't had much luck against Willow Springs recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Gainesville Bulldogs will challenge the Willow Springs Bears at 5:00 p.m.

Last Thursday, Gainesville came up short against Fordland and fell 40-33. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while the Eagles are ranked 131st).

Meanwhile, Willow Springs waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 35-17 win over the Bears.

Willow Springs pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points over those games. As for Gainesville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Gainesville suffered a grim 66-46 defeat to Willow Springs in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Gainesville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
