Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Strasburg). They put the hurt on the Luray Bulldogs with a sharp  19-2 victory on Thursday. With that  win, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 7.2  runs per game.
 Ava Mayhew made a big impact no matter where she played. She  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs and two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in May of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Hannah Merriner was  incredible,  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances with four  runs, two  stolen bases,  and one  double. That's the most  stolen bases  she has posted since back in May of 2024.  Kenley Arnold was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with three  RBI and two  runs.
 Strasburg  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. They are  a perfect 3-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
Strasburg has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Luray, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Strasburg will face off against Madison County at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Luray, they will square off against Central Woodstock at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their  12th straight  win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
