Soccer Recap: Willows Academy's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

Willows Academy extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Rickover Naval. Their defense stepped up to hand the Seadragons a 2-0 shutout. Given Willows Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Rickover Naval are ranked 364th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mary Seuffert and Bella Seuffert scored both of Willows Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

The win made it two in a row for Willows Academy and bumps their season record up to 15-3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those two matchups. As for Rickover Naval, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.

Willows Academy didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, an 11-2 win against Marine Leadership Academy on the 23rd. Rickover Naval does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
