Basketball Recap: Bolivar Finds Home Court Redemption Against Lebanon

There's no place like home for Bolivar, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They managed a 54-50 win over the Lebanon Yellowjackets on Friday. Given the Liberators' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lebanon's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bristol Burtin, who posted 12 points. What's more, Burtin also racked up two assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Antwon Givens, who earned six points and 17 boards.

Bolivar pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Lebanon, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Bolivar wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-64 loss against Branson on the 1st. Lebanon has also already played their next contest, a 71-58 win against Warrensburg on the 1st.
