Soccer Recap: West Rowan Takes a Loss

West Rowan lost against Northwest Cabarrus back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The West Rowan Falcons came up short against the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans, falling 10-3. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Trojans are ranked 100th).

Lily Carillo and Addison Broeckling scored all three of West Rowan's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

West Rowan dropped their record down to 0-6-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Northwest Cabarrus, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Coming up, West Rowan will venture away from home to take on East Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Rowan has given up an average of 4.7 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they will host Concord at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Cabarrus will be up against Concord's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.67 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
