Basketball Recap: Sedan Devils vs. Oxford Wildcats
Sedan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 48-30 to the Oxford Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 53-31 loss last Tuesday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oxford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abigail Rivers-Cabrera, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 14 points and three steals. Rivers-Cabrera is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Yasmin Gardea, who went 9-for-21 to rack up 19 points in addition to five boards and four steals.
Sedan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13-1. As for Oxford, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11.
Sedan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-17 loss against South Haven on the 11th. As for Oxford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-34 defeat against Udall on the 11th.
