Softball Recap: East Longmeadow Falls Short of Somerset Berkley Regional in the Playoffs

East Longmeadow and Somerset Berkley Regional squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but East Longmeadow had to settle for second. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Emma Maurer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Eve Butler, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

East Longmeadow's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

East Longmeadow does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Somerset Berkley Regional has already played their next match (against Westfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
