Baseball Recap: Madison County Drops Highest Score of Season Against Munroe

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Madison County). They were the clear victor by a 20-0 margin over the Munroe Bobcats on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cowboys needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Micah Newman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Newman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Madison County got a big performance out of Micah Jenkins, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Jenkins a new career-high in RBI (three). Eli Underhill was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Madison County's record is now 4-5. As for Munroe, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Looking ahead, Madison County will venture away from home to take on Aucilla Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Munroe, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Munroe Bobcats face off against L.E.A.D. Academy Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. They have given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
