Preview: Perrin-Whitt Pirates vs. Bryson Cowboys
Perrin-Whitt has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Bryson Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Perrin-Whitt will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
Even though Gorman scored an imposing 44 points on Friday, Perrin-Whitt still came out on top. Perrin-Whitt put the hurt on Gorman with a sharp 70-44 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Perrin-Whitt had established a 20 point advantage.
Perrin-Whitt found their leader in underclassman Cole Keeney, who rushed for 232 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 44 yards and two touchdowns. Keeney was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Ryan Elrod was in the mix too, providing Perrin-Whitt with three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Bryson's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were outmatched by Gordon on the road and fell 54-8. Having soared to a lofty 74 points in the game before, Bryson couldn't push the score so high this time.
Perrin-Whitt's victory bumped their season record to 1-6 while Bryson's defeat dropped theirs to 4-3.
Perrin-Whitt suffered a grim 72-46 defeat to Bryson in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Perrin-Whitt avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
