Basketball Recap: Brianne Hicks Key Part of a Team Effort in Titans Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ironton, Notre Dame was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the South Gallia Rebels by a score of 44-37. That's more bragging rights for the Titans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Notre Dame's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brianne Hicks led the charge by putting up 11 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Hicks has posted since back in January. Laney Strickland was another key player, posting eight points and 12 rebounds.

Notre Dame's record now sits at 6-1. As for South Gallia, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Notre Dame and South Gallia could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Notre Dame (ranked 311th) will meet St. Joseph Central (ranked 48th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, South Gallia (ranked 172nd) will meet Waterford (ranked fourth) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
