Baseball Recap: Warrensburg Gets the Win

The Warrensburg Burgers beat the Northville Falcons 4-1 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Burgers.

Paul Moore made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Moore wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Remington, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another was Maris Martin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Warrensburg hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northville struck out eight times.

Warrensburg's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Northville, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Coming up, Warrensburg will face off against Lake Placid at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Burgers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bombers have averaged an impressive 12.4 runs per game this season. As for Northville, they are taking a road trip to take on Mayfield at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
