Basketball Recap: Chazy Skates Past Saranac Lake with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Chazy on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Saranac Lake Red Storm out of the water with a 51-21 final score. The Eagles pushed the score to 33-11 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Storm had little chance of recovering from.

Leading Chazy to victory were Carly LaPierre and Emma Howell. LaPierre dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 boards, while Howell posted 15 points. With that strong performance, LaPierre is now averaging an impressive 8.5 rebounds per game. Stephanie Barriere was another key player, putting up nine points.

Saranac Lake's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Ladue, who earned eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Akey, who put up seven points.

Chazy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-4. As for Saranac Lake, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Chazy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-32 loss against Chateaugay on the 22nd. As for Saranac Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-51 defeat against Northern Adirondack on the 28th.
