Baseball Recap: Thornwell's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Thornwell had to endure an 11-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Berea Bulldogs by a score of 14-9 on Saturday. This was payback for the Saints, who suffered a 9-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Bryce English was incredible, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Zach Crowe, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

The victory got Thornwell back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thornwell will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Abbeville at 7:00 p.m. on March 11th. As for Berea, they will square off against Oakbrook Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oakbrook Prep will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Berea surely won't give up without a fight.
