Softball Recap: Fort Bend Hightower Drops Highest Score of Season Against Fort Bend Dulles

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Bend Hightower). Everything went their way against the Fort Bend Dulles Vikings on Tuesday as the Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes made off with a 16-1 win. The victory was nothing new for the Hurricanes as they're now sitting on four straight.

Jenise Tristan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Fort Bend Hightower got a massive performance out of Baylee Bonner, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs Bonner has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Amiyah Lee, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Fort Bend Hightower was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .368 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Fort Bend Hightower's win bumped their record up to 10-1-2. As for Fort Bend Dulles, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Bend Hightower will head out to face off against Fort Bend Clements at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Bend Clements has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.83 runs per game on average), something Fort Bend Hightower will no doubt try to take advantage of. Fort Bend Dulles will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fort Bend Elkins at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th.
