Baseball Game Preview: Northwest Indians vs. Field Falcons

The Northwest Indians will square off against the Field Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Things were looking good for Northwest after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Manchester by a score of 5-4.

Parker Kraft made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Field had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 11-2 victory. Considering the Falcons have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Field's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Northwest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
