The Eastern Hancock Royals will head out to challenge the Frankton Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastern Hancock is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
If Eastern Hancock beats Frankton with 14 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Royals put the hurt on Cambridge City Lincoln with a sharp 14-2 win on Tuesday. Considering the Royals have won six games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Macy Martin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
In other pitching news, McKenna Stewart looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Eastern Hancock let Hannah Wittgren and Addisyn Trackwell run wild. Wittgren went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Trackwell went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was Trackwell's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Makenna Mason, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Eastern Hancock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Frankton entered their tilt with Eastbrook on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Panthers.
Aubree Engelking was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Brooks, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.
Eastern Hancock's victory was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Frankton, their record is now 9-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Eastern Hancock has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Frankton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Eastern Hancock was able to grind out a solid victory over Frankton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
