Monticello took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets with a sharp 21-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Magic in their matchups with the Bluejackets: they've now won eight in a row.

Adam Brenny was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Brenny was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Monticello got a massive performance out of Hunter Miller, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Brock Holthaus was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cambridge-Isanti fell to 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monticello will host Becker at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cambridge-Isanti, they will square off against Duluth East at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
