Baseball Recap: Evans Takes a Loss

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Evans was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They came up short against the Gateway Panthers, falling 15-2.

Evans saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kailand Walker, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Walker has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Tarrick Bridges also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Evans' defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Gateway, their record now sits at 11-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evans will take on Cocoa at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gateway, they will head out to square off against St. Cloud at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
